Tallaght Community Council (TCC) is a voluntary, apolitical community group established almost 50 years ago. The committee has members of different ages, professions, skills and personal life experiences to bring to the many projects and campaigns we run.
Our Origins
In the 1960s, the greater Tallaght area began the journey from a small rural village to a very large town. The massive population growth and large construction of new houses wasn’t always matched by the speedy delivery of essential community amenities and infrastructure. This drove the formation of the community council in the late 1970s, early 1980s.
Our Activities
We design and run many bespoke Tallaght projects such as the Tallaght Person of the Year awards, Love Tallaght Outdoors as well as supporting and activating many national campaigns in Tallaght such as an Taisce Spring clean, Heritage Week, National Tree Week, Make My Way and Tidy Towns.
